Key West of the Midwest-Grafton, IL

Grafton, Illinois is often called "The Key West of the Midwest." The Grafton Harbor Marina fits this label.

The evening of September 9th, all of the Loopers that were "stuck" at Grafton Marina, due to the flooding Illinois and Mississippi Rivers, had dinner at the
Aerie 's Riverview Winery. All 36 of us or 18 boats!

The sign posted on the deck of the winery overlooking the river.

Just some of the Looper group.

Below is a Picture of our new BFF Anne and Rick Davis. They travel "The Loop" in a catamaran named "Assisted Living". A fellow Vietnam Helicopter Pilot.

Even if he was Army, still a good guy! :-)

My "Honey" Sara, the best Co-captain and navigator on the river!

View from the winery deck. Off in the distance is where the Illinois River enters the Mighty Mississippi River.

Anne Davis and Sara sharing a little wine.

........ and a good time was had by all!!

......good friends is what it's all about!

Another shot of the Grafton marina. The majority of the slips are  covered. We definitely  recommend this marina.
